Sharda was Orphan. She was a beautiful teen ager and Seth Anokehlal a mill owner was in his sixties. Sly as he was, very skilfully manoeuvred his marriage with Sharda, but it was not destined and incidently she was married to Mohan a handsome youngman who was also a mill-owner. This incident was also a curious one as Mohan wanted to marry another girl who was absolutely westernised and believed in civil marriage, which is of course unwanted in India. So this difference of opinion made Sharda's stars shine but the spiteful Seth Anokhelal was so hit that he decided to take revenge on Mohan. He in a most secretive manner made Mohan lose all his luck in Share Bazar and was under debt of lakhs of Rupees.
This misfortune made Mohan lose his head also and was absolutely frustrated. Ultimately in order to pay off his creditors he criminally defrauded a Bank of Rs. four lakhs. This fact came to light very shortly. Seth Anokhelal was successful in his game and taking full advantage of the situation forced Mohan and his father to marry Sadhna, sister of Mohan.
But Mohan and his father refused to give Sadhna to Anokhelal in marriage. Sadhna a freshly blossomed bud in order to save his brother form going to jail and keep the respect of the family voluntarily offered herself and she was married to old haggered Seth Anokhlal.
This unprecedented sacrifice of Sadhna, ruination of Mohan's happy family, the cruelties of callous Seth Anokhelal and the ultimate end of it. Please see on the silver screen.
